What We Do

Español

Liturgical Celebration - La Iglesia Del Pueblo is a Worshipping Community founded in the tradition of the Freedom Church of the Poor. In addition,  in partnership with the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) we are both a 1001 New Worshiping Community and a Mathew 25 church.  We meet weekly on Sunday at 11:00AM at St. Pauls St. Andrew's United Methodist Church at 263 W 86th St, New York, NY 10024.

Projects of Survival: The Abriendo Puertas program is a workers cooperative academy to educate and train newly arrived immigrants in the development and implementation of worker cooperatives that will allow them to create and maintain sustainable jobs and generate wealth.

Partnerships:  We believe that it is time for a global paradigm shift from competition to collaboration.  Our partners include the Kairos Center and the Poor People's Campaign, The Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA): 1001 New Worshiping Communities & Matthew 25 Movement,  St. Pauls St. Andrew's UM Church, West End Collegiate Church, NYC Network of Workers Cooperatives and NYC Connect which is a program of World Connect.

Community Organizing:  We work to encourage, educate and empower the community to take action together and become agents of their own liberation.  In partnership with the NYS Poor People's campaign we are working to build a movement of the poor and dispossessed.
